WEATHERSTATION

LOCATION

The weather station of Meteo Maarssen is located in the central part of The Netherlands, just north of the city Utrecht in Maarssen. It is an urban weather station. The effect of an urban site is that the temperatures are a bit higher as in the surrounding sub urban sites.

INSTRUMENTS

WEATHERMONITOR II

Weather Monitor II

The core of our weather station is build around the full automated Weather Monitor II weather station and the next sensors:

   
Console
All sensors are connected to the console, this console is included with a barometer with a range of 880 to 1080 hPa.
   
Software
This is the PC interface for the weatherstation. Data is logged every 10 minutes.
   

Precipitation counter
The precipitaion counter has a resolution of 0,2 mm and is a build heather for snow and hail.

   

Temperature and humidity
The temperature is measured in a resolution of 0,1°C and is aquarate within a range of 0,5°C. The humidity sensor aquarate within 3%.
   

Anemometer
Sensor for windspeed and direction. The speed of wind wind can be measured from 0 tot 78 m/s, or up to 280 km/hr.
   

OTHER INSTRUMENTS

 
Station thermometer
The station thermometer is a calibrated mercury thermometer with a resolution of 0,2°C. This thermometer is used to correct the measurements of the WM II themperature sensor.
   
pH-meter
The pH-meter is used to measure the degree of accid from rainwater.
   
Sfericscounter
This sferics counter can detect lightnings up to 1.000 km in distance and within 3° for the direction.

WEATHEROFFICE

We are analysing all kind of weatherdata and satellite data in our local office. All measurements and other data are stored in a full automated way. We provide also a special weekend forecast (in Dutch) for the central part of the Netherlands.
